Why choose an Ergonomic Mouse
A good ergonomic mouse helps prevent many physical problems caused by repetitive gestures often associated with poor posture.
Ergonomic Mice allow a more neutral posture of the arm and forearm, and limit points of tension at the elbow and shoulder. The arm should neither be too far from the body, nor twisted as is the case with conventional mice, which require you to rotate the arm inwards to place your hand on it. Fingers should be soft and relaxed on the mouse. Ideally, the hand is in line with the forearm without feeling any tension.
Why use an ergonomic mouse? It helps reduce the pressure exerted around the wrist. People who regularly use a computer may sometimes experience pain in their wrists, fingers, and shoulders due to long hours spent at the computer using a keyboard and mouse.
With an ergonomic mouse, a person will not exert the same force of tension and pressure on their wrists as on their fingers. The difference between a traditional mouse and an ergonomic mouse is that you don’t have to put pressure on your fingers and you can scroll, click and steer the cursor easily without any pressure on your wrist.
Pointer speed and cursor accuracy are important points. If the speed is too slow, you make too many unnecessary wrist movements. The pointer is at the right speed if, to bring it horizontal from one edge of the screen to the other, you do not need to move the mouse more than 5 cm.
Anyone using an ergonomic mouse for the first time will find the experience strange and weird, but you’ll get used to it easily and wonder why you hadn’t thought of it before.
Nowadays, there are different ergonomic mice on the market and several ranges are available. At EHS-Canada, our online purchasing division, we have selected an excellent choice of high-performance and easy-to-use Ergonomic Mice, whether for right-handed or left-handed users.
Some people who switched from a conventional mouse to an ergonomic mouse reported that the pain they experienced in their wrists and arms disappeared shortly after the switch.
The more time we spend in front of the computer, the more we understand the importance of having an ergonomic workspace and tools.
Very often, when we start using peripherals that have been designed for comfort, we wonder how we were able to work with a low-end keyboard or mouse.
For example, with an ergonomic mouse you avoid causing tension in the forearm, wrist and hand.
It makes all the difference after a whole day of work in front of the screen!
